Podcast: How to upload your content

A podcast is a serial episode, recorded in audio format and broadcast virtually through mobile apps such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, iVoox, among others. Programs can be recorded in various formats and topics. There are many, and by browsing, you're sure to find something of interest through the music app search engines.

Voice sessions can be listened to via cell phone, the web, or a smart speaker. Some of the content diversifications found on these platforms include interviews, musical sessions, audio fiction, journalistic chronicles, magazines, ASMR, narrative-documentary, among many others, in addition to creative topics that you can follow.

According to EncuestaPod 2021, over the last two years, podcast listeners have increased their listening time by 70%. One of the questions asked listeners was: Why do you listen to podcasts? The majority responded "to learn new things" (75.76%), followed by "to entertain myself" (71.08%), then "to distract myself" (40.36%), "to be inspired" (34.94%). And a lesser number "to keep up with the news" (32.81%), "to relax" (28.36%), and finally "to have company" (27.06%).

Upload your podcast to Spotify

We'll show you two alternatives to upload your audio content to this social network. Once you've created the theme of your show, in addition to the technical coordination to record the programs and planned the niche you want to position yourself in, it's time to upload the content.

This first option is through an RSS Feed link, which you can acquire by uploading your content to a website, blog, or YouTube. We'll need this URL soon.

- Let's go to Spotify for Podcasters, then select the “Get Started option, register, or log in with our account.
- Select “Get Started” again and paste the RSS link you saved.
- Fill in your personal information, including where your podcast was created, its category, and the language. And that's it, share!

Another way to upload your music, and you don't need to have previously published your content, is through Anchor, a mobile app owned by Spotify that specializes in podcast creation and editing. After editing your audio, add the name of your edit, add a description, and cover photo. Within 24 hours, they will respond to your request, and your content will be on the Spotify platform.
