Speakers for the day include Sergio Rojas, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreysus, Esther Duflo, and Mariana Mazzucato, among others.
The talks feature national and international speakers from more than 20 countries. Among them, four have won Nobel Prizes. Esther Duflo won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2019 for her specialization in the study of poverty and inequality. Meanwhile, Stanley Whittingham won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2019 after discovering key processes in lithium production in the 1970s. German Harald Zur Hausen won the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2008 for his discoveries related to the human papillomavirus. Muhammad Yunus won the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in creating social and economic development.
This version will be held in 10 regions of the country (in addition to the Metropolitan Region): Antofagasta, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, O'Higgins, Maule, Biobío, La Araucanía, Los Ríos, Aysén, and Magallanes. For example, the opening day in Magallanes will be attended by Sharon Robinson, an expert on the Antarctic continent and climate change, and Argentine immunologist Oscar Bottasso, who is currently working to find a cure for COVID. Meanwhile, the closing day in Los Ríos will be attended by Enric Sala, director of National Geographic's Pristine Seas initiative; and in Aysén, Jemma Wadham, a glaciology professor at the Arctic University of Norway.
