The social network announced that it will take extreme measures to prevent the spread of comments and direct messages that harass and promote hate speech. This is thanks to a new feature called Limits, which limits who can comment on a post or send a direct message to its author.
With the new update, users can choose not to have their posts commented on by users who don't follow them, or who recently followed them. Blocking also works with direct message requests.
Filtered words is another option where you can hide offensive comments and message requests. Additionally, you can create a list of words, phrases, and emojis that users don't want to see in interactions with your posts or accounts.
In the case of direct messages, if Instagram detects offensive content, it sends them to a folder to remain hidden. Additionally, warnings will be set up that will appear when people are about to comment on a post using inappropriate, abusive, or disrespectful terms.
