Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced some time ago via Twitter that Instagram is no longer just for sharing photos. Instead, its focus is on entertainment, directed towards the four areas currently used: creators, shopping, messaging, and video.
While the IGTV app will not disappear, changes will be made to its name and video length options. The app\'s video section will be called Instagram TV, and it also plans to offer easier video editing options, as well as new filters, cropping, stickers, and locations for users.
“Starting today, we\'re combining IGTV and feed videos into one format: Instagram video. We\'re also introducing a new Video tab on your profile, where this combined video format will be present, making it easier for people to discover new video content,” explains Alexandru Voica of Facebook.
Users will also be able to find all videos and live streams in the new and improved Instagram TV app. The app promises to make it easier to find the best videos from Instagram creators.
Instagram feed videos will also change, making it easier for people to discover new content. They will be available in a tab on the profile, located next to the photos, Reels, tagging, and other tabs. The maximum duration of videos that can be viewed in the feed will also be expanded to up to 60 minutes.
