Instagram allows you to respond to posts with reels

Meta's social network has changed its guidelines this year to compete head-on with the arrival of TikTok, a video-sharing social media app owned by the Chinese company ByteDance.

The entertainment network's director, Adam Mosseri, has posted on several occasions on his social media channels, the process by which he has been experimenting with new interaction tools, updates, and enhancement options for stories and reels, which has caught the attention of influencers who want to host their content on just one social network.

Reels has become one of the most popular. In this latest update, the company has announced that from now on, its users will have the option to respond to its posts using the reel format.

This opens several doors for influencers and brands, as it represents a new integration experience for each company's digital ecosystem. Users will be able to unleash their creativity and originality to add dynamism when interacting with their audiences and/or virtual communities. This will also boost the visibility of Reels, as everything points to them becoming the main focus of the social network.

The new feature originally came from TikTok, which already had the option to reply with a video at the beginning of 2021. This has worked very well for TikTokers and their engagement. The difference is that this update allows you to respond to both video posts and Reels.

When you want to respond to a comment, the chat bubble and the camera icon will appear. Tap the user and you can record a video to respond to the comment. When it's posted, a thumbnail of the video will appear in the comment thread.
