Advanced CSS Tutorial: Creating Parallax Effects and Responsive Animations

As you delve deeper into CSS, you can create more advanced effects by using keyframes to animate specific parts of the design as scrolling occurs. However, a common criticism of parallax is its lack of responsiveness. It is vital to ensure that such effects are mobile-friendly or degrade appropriately if they are not.

This middle rule ensures that on devices with small screens, where resources may be limited, the fixed background scrolling is disabled.

Responsive CSS Animations

Responsive CSS animations involve carefully adapting these effects for various devices and resolutions without losing fluidity. The key here is to use percentages and relative units like em or vw, as well as the viewport property, which allows the animations to adapt to the screen size.

An example might be:

@keyframes fadeIn { from { opacity: 0; } to { opacity: 1; } } .responsive-animation { animation-name: fadeIn; animation-duration: 2s; animation-timing-function: ease-in-out; width: 50%; / Use relative units / }

This setting makes your animations look equally appealing on a wide desktop or a narrow mobile phone.
