2022 Priorities ?
This next year is going to be pivotal for Instagram. In addition to our industry-leading safety and wellbeing efforts, we’re focused on these four key priorities. Hope you’re all able to get some rest over the holidays. See you in the New Year! pic.twitter.com/iY8uQ1EnMZ — Adam Mosseri (@mosseri) December 28, 2021 In the video, Mosseri explained that \"We\'re going to double down on our focus on video.\" He added that Instagram will also \"consolidate all of our video formats around Reels and continue to grow that product.\" “We’re also going to focus heavily on messaging,” he explained in the video. “We believe Instagram can be the best place for people to connect with their friends about their interests. And Instagram has to accept the fact that messaging is that primary form of communication.” In addition, the CEO assured that transparency would be a priority in 2022. “Creators are at the forefront of the power shift we’re seeing across all industries, from institutions to individuals,” he added. “There will be a number of new creator monetization products—ways to help creators earn a living on our platform—that I’m particularly excited about for next year.”
2021 is drawing to a close, and the social network has undergone a series of changes throughout the year that currently position it as a direct competitor to TikTok. And just like the features of the social network where TikTokers reign, it intends to move away from photo-based posts and prioritize videos, this time through Reels.
Instagram\'s director, Adam Mosseri, has created and published audiovisual content on his Twitter profile to showcase new ideas he and his creative team are developing, which they plan to launch next year. According to what he explains, the social network must be rethought in accordance with the world we live in, which is changing at a speed we are not used to, adding that they will strive to add greater security to accounts.
A few months ago, the same CEO announced the elimination of IGTV, which we could call a move to ensure that videos continue to be used, but in a different way, in addition to monetizing the content shared by creators and using it as a formalized job through the social network.
“This next year is going to be pivotal for Instagram. In addition to our industry-leading safety and wellbeing efforts, we are focused on these four key priorities. I hope everyone can get some rest during the holidays. See you in the new year!” wrote the Instagram CEO, attached to the video explaining the new features.
