Music is an attractive addition when displaying a video, and the social network already allows and has the option to use music for stories and reels. This could also open the door for users to add songs to their feed posts.
As usual, the social network began testing this feature with a select segment of its audience. The chosen location to test its new capabilities is India. The audience in this country is significant, representing a large portion of Instagram\'s general user base.
The music tool is currently in an experimental phase. Some users in India have already reported the appearance and options for the new music segment, which will look something like this:
As we can see, the process is no different from what is currently used to add music to a feed post. The steps are clear for easily accessing the creation process: add the photo, edit it if the audience likes it, and then add tags, location, labels, and finally, music.
To allow social media users to choose the specific song clip they want to use, the steps are the same as those used worldwide for Stories or Reels.
Besides India, a few other countries are participating in the new test. There are no official announcements yet, so the specific launch date depends on how well it performs.
The possibilities of this tool are attractive, as it will allow users to officially add music to posts, whether from individuals or for commercial purposes. Currently, when users upload a clip with music for commercial use without the proper license, the system considers it grounds for removing the content. This also happens on Facebook. With the new option, users can legally use songs, as long as they are included in the social network\'s license catalog.
